I have been a customer of BT Anytime Internet Package for 2 years now. For 15.99 per month you could access the internet ANYTIME as the advertising states.A dialer software easy to install calls the Free Number, no call charges just a fixed price per month, and up to 5 e-mail adresses.Seemed like a good bargain.

Well BEWARE, BT anytime is not anytime anymore. In the first year of operation the service was perfect. Easy connection and no cut offs , with a good speed. Then a year ago a change of terms was sent. It stated that every customer is entitled to 12 hours per 24 hours, and this is a measure to improve service quality. Hardly anytime, but I was not alarmed since I thought that 12 hours are adequate. The service had worsen indeed and I was prepared to accept that restriction in order to have a speedy line.

Untill recenlty (2 days ago) when I received a change of terms again. BT states that in order to improve the quality, and since they believe that most users do not use the internet for more that 150 hours per month (NOT ME, I USE IT NON STOP) , they will put a new limit to the ANYTIME PACKAGE, 150 hours per month. This equals to 5 hours per day which is more that 50% cut down from the previous limit. Not ANYTIME this time. I have sent them a a letter stating my complaints,and urged them to change the name of the package since it is misleading and I am currently awaiting a response which I will post here.

Do be beware of small prints when choosing an ISP and especially the section where it states probable time limits. As far as BT is concerned, better choose another provider.
