Good connection - BUT....... (BT Broadband)

Advantages: Good connection, reliable

Disadvantages: Expensive, confusing billing, bad customer service

BT Broadband promises a strong connection, high speed surfing and unlimited downloads. For the fact that they are one of the giants in the industry, I opted for the BT Total Broadband.
Here is my view after having used 12 month of this service:
1 - Connection - As promised, BT connection is strong and reliable, and I only faced out of service one in 12 months
2 - Download speed - Forget about a superfast download, unless if you are close to the exchange. YOUR DOWNLOAD WILL BE CAPPED whether you like it or not
3 - Customer Service - worst in the world, since you are diverted to numerous channels including overseas customer service as well as homeworking customer services.
4 Cost - This is the downpoint of BT Broadband. There are so many hidden charges that you would not be able to determine where these additional charges come from. The bills will make you even more confused. I really can't elaborate, but trust me on this one. Also, note that you will be paying quarterly, and not monthly. This means that you have to pay 3 months in advance before using the service. This also means that if you intend to end your contract, you will still have to pay additional 3 months that you would not be using the service. For me, its been 3 months now since I terminated this contract, but BT still owes me more than GBP70.00.
In my view, BT Broadband is meant for the rich. You will be amazed at the extra charges applied on top of your monthly bills, and how confusing everything is.
