Reliable internet, depending where you live (BT Broadband)

Advantages: reliable Disadvantages: bit more expensive than others but part of phone package Do use BT broadband! After reading other posts on here, I would like to offer an alternative view. I have had Bt broadband for over 2 years and not had a single problem during that time. When you subscribe, BT send you a modem box which you plug in (USB) to your pc and then the cd which comes with it explains with diagrams what to do to set up your account. Once this is done, you can use the internet. I think there are limits on the amount of material that can be downloaded but I have always received fast enough speeds (although I'm not technical enough to know if they are the same as those advertised) and the system has never been down when I've tried to use it in the past 2 years. I have to admit that i use it socially so whether during office hours there may be problems I don't know. I've also heard that it depends on where you live because if you live near an exchange then you are ok but if you live far away from one, you could get lower speeds and more unreliable connections. Speaking from my own experience, I have been very satisfied with BT broadband. One word of caution though, one of my friends had a few intial set up problems and rang the helpline which wasn't much use at all and resulted in them being passed around to different departments. Summary: Good download speeds and reliable service |
