As a household we have been with Bt for our calls and broadband for just over 2 years now, and on the main part have been happy. Originally we chose bt after being messed around by Orange when attempting to set up broadband after moving into our home. The package we were offered was unlimited download, free evening and weekend landline ...  Read the complete review

Billing scam - BT Charge more than as per contract and price ... (383 words)

On the whole, I find the actual home hub broadband service to be fairly fast, and reliable, but their cool-handed payments scam and atrocious India-based 'customer service' I find intolerable. I took the Total Broadband Unlimited Option 3 which is advertised at £24.46 a month, with £18.59 for the first 3 months, if you sign up for an ...  Read the complete review

I cannot believe how poor BT are with customer service. After buying into BT's 'all in one' packages consisting of Phone, Broadband and BT Vision service in February I thought great all under one roof, one bill no problems. First of all you get 3 bills! Ok not much of an issue but overly complicated surely??! Secondly ..... ...  Read the complete review

BT Broadband-Pathetic customer service, Incompetent technical help, and lame excuses. I was a total of 9 weeks in a 5 month period without broadband. This all started when my service was upgraded to the 21st century system. My connection kept dropping off completely.I had 7 visits by openreach engineers.Waited all day for a hub to be delivered, then told they had forgot. And spent over 40 hours on the phone.Speaking to every Indian there is in India. And it is very hard to understand them. All they kept doing is repeating themselves, and saying sorry..The connection speed kept going down, and up. The connection was lost for hours. Eventually they admitted the fault was on a restrictor at the exchange, but it would help if i had a hub.Even their own engineers advised against this, as they said they are unreliable. So i have left them, after years of being a customer

I was using Tiscali previously but when we shifted to our new house we also transfer broadband to our new accommodation and problem started. Tiscali has proven to be very good broadband service and we never had any problem but their customer service is low standard because the way they dealt the case we moved on to other service provider. Well I would like to start by informing you that I pay for the option 3 with 8mb/s which clearly states "Unlimited" access and download. As I use the internet very regularly on many levels, during 1 intense month of usage from my part, as I came back from work found that my internet was crippled, so ran a speed test at ...  Read the complete review

Do use BT broadband! After reading other posts on here, I would like to offer an alternative view. I have had Bt broadband for over 2 years and not had a single problem during that time. When you subscribe, BT send you a modem box which you plug in (USB) to your pc and then the cd which comes with it explains with diagrams what to do to set up ...  Read the complete review

I can only say BT are the worst I have ever used for Broadband, I only had it for six months so about 180 days but I had no use for a total of 74 days so after a row with a BT rep who said I cant leave I now gone with Virgin reveiw to follow. One thing I will say is that there technical help is good I sould know I spent ages on the phone to them. I know people will say it all down to distance from exchange on speed but I live just 250 feet from mine, so why cant I get a realiable service. If I was giving a mark out of ten sorry BT but it a 1 out of 10

I had BT phone connected and went on the internet and they had an offer on for around £7 a month for the first 3 months then after £15 per month for BT Total Broadband which i thought was really good because they sent me a Hub which was free and is very classy to have in a room even on show. BT BROADBAND OPTION 1 REVIEW (HOME USER) I ordered BT Broadband when we moved into our current house about three years ago purely because it was the easiest option as our telephone line was with BT also (we also got a pretty good deal). I have had BT Broadband for almost a year now and I have had no problems. The speed they offer is up to 8mb but I often only get half of that, but that isn't the fault of BT Broadband. It's the telephone lines on this exchange. Apparently half the lines in this city go through the old exchange and get slower broadband. I know this is true because ...  Read the complete review

I write this review of BT Broadband on the day I have decided to finally leave the company and seek my broadband service through either Virgin or Sky. Express Review on BT Broadband
by Terry W - written on 13/03/09

Although I have been with BT broadband for over 5 years I used another ISP to send and receive e-mail. I just changed over to BTinternet.com e-mail addresses and am appalled at the unreliability of their mail servers especially at peak times. In the last month I have had more occasions when I couldn't send or receive mail than in the previous five years. One querying technical support which was very quick to respond but toally useless in advice; there appears to be no way of the customer to check if the mail servers are actually on line [or if its a local problem] or finding out what proportion of time they are not availabe.

Just got BT Broadband - Very pleased (205 words)

Just signed up with BT Broadband and I am impressed. When I went looking for a broadband provider I saw some dreadful reviews for BT, in fact everyone that supplies broadband in my area (and I don't have much choice!) had bad reviews. So in the end I opted for BT as the best of a bad bunch. What a refreshing surprise to get some good service. ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on BT Broadband

Absolutely appalling speeds and customer service.

I'm only a 1/2 mile from the exchange connected at 7.5mb but BT is only allowing 15kbs. Phone call after phone call to some call centre in India, they won't fix the issues. The whole town is the same with everyone I know having the same slow speeds (8 months now), but BT don't care to lift a finger. As long as they have you in their contract, it's not their problem.

They blatantly lie to the customers, renew contracts with no notification, reduce your speeds and threaten you with fees for trying to go elsewhere.

DO NOT TOUCH BT. THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINES!!!

Try 02 / BE for good broadband.

Having had to get a brand new phone line installed in my flat (at cost of £125, despite all the line and equipment being in place) I felt I might as well stick with BT to provide the service as well as the line. I've been on BT broadband for the past 3 months, and after a few starting 'hiccups' it runs quite smooth and reliably. There is a big factor to be taken into consideration before choosing BT over any other service provider. What are you using the internet for? BT 'throttle' (limit / slow down) every other port apart from ...  Read the complete review
