BTC dsl service is lousy to say the least. Once you need to call BTC for repairs "dog eat your lunch." They are incapable in resolving any problem in a reasonable time period. ........it appears BTC is lacking in management miserably. I noticed they would take a good technician and make him/her a manager where he/she is lacking miserably in that area and now lost a good technician and this is where BTC is failing badly. If you are fascinated by the internet then you may want cheaper calls, especially if you have to connect to the internet to get your emails then this is what you need. There is a fairly new service from bt called bt anytime and it's only £14.99 a month and you don't have to pay for the calls, its fab! You are currently being held in a queue... If you sign up with Btconnect expect to hear this on a regular basis, when you phone up to report a fault. I work for a small business, where a constant net connection at a reasonable price is important which is why we signed up for BtConnect (business version) . We are currently changing over from Btconnect because over the past few months we have had a nightmare. The server goes down at least once a week, sometimes for the good part of a day. I think that BT connect is a pretty good ISP to say the very least! It gives you a good connection at a very good price. I would recommend this to new Internet users, but there are some things to learn about it. I am not with this ISP anymore because my dad decided to change. I did not change because it is bad; I changed because we liked BT Surftime better. It connects very fast and does not disconnect you just like freeserve or them ISP'S where you pay just £50 for a whole year. We have just changed over our ISP to BT Connect from World Online and think its pretty good...you need a standard BT line and thats all, you order surftime with BT, then register with BTCONNECT.COM, this is £19.99 per month, with £10 payable to BT Connect and all internet calls are free 24/7. I know theres a lot of different ISPs out there and some are better than others but I would definitely recomend this to anyone.
