Advantages: Can't think of any
Disadvantages: Slow and cranky, like my mother in law
I've already sang the praises of Freeserve, so i thought I might as well take a swipe at one of my old ISPs good old BT. Signing up with them was pretty painless and straight forward, as you'd expect they want your money so the service was fine, trying to get them to cancel my subscription was a different story altogether, it took 5 E-Mails, with BT constantly asking me for passwords, maiden names and anything else they could think of, in fact I was waiting for them to ask my inside leg measurement before they let me cancel, eventually I had to telephone them to get any action. As far as their performance goes, well, my computer would regularly freeze up, or go at a painfully slow pace, and on frequent occasions I would be disconnected, on average at least once an hour, I of course put up with this for some time thinking it was my poor dodgy computer, I was wrong, my computer has worked superbly since I left sad BT, who obviously can't cope with the traffic on their site. In conclusion if you are having any of the above problems with BT, don't feel you have to put up with it, there are plenty of good ISP's about.
