Advantages: still thinking on that!

Disadvantages: everything?

Well, I used to be with btinternet anytime.

And in the begining it was very reliable, easy to use. Certainly very quick for a dial up connection, but.......... along came the big advertising campaign.

That was when all started to go downhill. The connection started slowing, only a little, but pages were taking longer, and you could certainly notice it.

Then came the disconnections, only a couple of times a day, but still enough to start to annoy you, especially when you was in mid conversation, or downloading. Anyone tried downloading mpegs or mp3's at a slow rate only to be cut off in mid-flow??

Well, that was just the start of things, in the end it got so bad that it was taking me between 10/20 tries just to get connected, and then you just had to hope you didnt get disconnected.
But, and you've guessed it, you did get connected, if you were lucky. (only about once every 20 mins.)

So that was when I knew I had to change.
Then came the farce of trying to cancel my subscription.

Step one:
Well, I sent the email, to what I was told (by the home page)was the right address.

After hearing nothing for a few days, I then contacted the enquiries email address. (Step two.) I was told it wasnt the right address, as btinternet had now changed to btopenworld!

Step three.
So I contacted them via e-mail, and finally it got cancelled but only after I had been given the run around for just enough time for them to credit my credit card account for another months subscription........... coincidence?????

The price for this laughable excuse of a service was £14.99 a month, at the begining this seemed to be worth every penny, but as more and more people joined, that was when the service went down hill.

I certainly think BT should have got their end sorted and ready for a big influx of subscribers before going on a massive media campaign.

Not a service I would
advise anyone to take! :(

I am on Freeserve and am happy so far. There was the occasional blip, but they seem to have sorted this. Hope I haven't tempted fate!!
