Advantages: Good e-mail provider
Disadvantages: Slow Connection, Expensive Server, Unhelpful Support Team
BT must be the most overated, terrible, attrocious, every bad word under the sun would not amount up to what I think or have to say about BT internet! My change of mind was affected last eyar when I was told that I was using the internet far too much and changed to a more frequent users dial up which actually happened to connect slower and once you were eventually connected (after several hundred tries), the thing would either disconnect o go sooo slow that I thought it was going to begin going backwards if it went any slower! Unfortunately they seemed to of thought that I was excessively using the internet to download things whilst being away from the computer. This was the e-mail inwhich they stated how much I was using the net: Dear Customer As part of our customer service program, we regularly review the network and level of service received by all of our customers. After reviewing our records recently, we have reason to believe that your account has been active for online sessions during extended periods of time when it has not been used. We remind you that this is not permitted under the terms and conditions of the BTopenworld Anytime service (please refer to paragraph 10.3). The reason for this condition is that such usage reduces the level of available service for all of our customers. We wish to advise that should this practice continue, we reserve our right to suspend or terminate your account without further notice to you. As a precautionary measure we suggest you reset your password. It may be that your account has been compromised and is being used by people other than yourself. To do this, please go to the URL below and select 'Change Password'. All correspondence regarding unattended use will be sent to this email address (selected during registering for BTopenworld Anytime). Please ensure you check this email address for regular updates. Thank you f
or your co-operation. Yours sincerely BTopenworld Customer Services This basically wasn't true as I am a student who is hardly ever on the internet but the times that I do wish to come on are those as soon as I get in from study etc. at the time they class as peak. I was having problems 4 days ago with connecting to BT Internet and so I rung the technical helpdesk which is a very cheap call, only 50P a minute!!!! and they kept me hanging on for ages. In the end after 8 calls the time had mounted up to well over 30 minutes (half an hour) and so hopefully we will be reinbursed once we file a complaint.

- 17/03/02 Eurgh. I wouldn't trust BT with a bargepole! I've recently splashed out the £25 per month for blueyonder broadband, and I'm in love with it! |
