I just logged on to the BTOpenworld service.

I received my package a week ago however. It seems that I had the same problem which many users experienced, because the program loaded software drivers, which were old and hence I could not get onto the network.

It was very frustrating given the hype surrounding the lightning fast speeds.

I have to tell you that it was worth the wait to finally connect to the network!

This package is ideal because I do not have to spend money on getting a second phone line, nor do I have to spend money on an evenings/weekends free service (I was previously using BT Free Internet) and I get the benefit of a fast connection.

I would point out something which initially made me a little disappointed with the service but was later explained. This was the fact that I expected to be able to whizz through the internet but do not forget that this service does not affect greatly the speed at which the ISP will make contact with the ISP of the page which you are looking up. However where it's speed comes in is the incredible speed at which the page itself will download onto your screen. Video files are also notably faster and my MP3 collection has increased from 10 to 150 in 1 week!!

Update: I should add that the service is £39.99 a month. The installation fee is £150 (but this was free if you had pre-ordered your connection before it was launched).
