When I moved to my current home, a Cable London line was already installed. Rather than pay £100 for a BT one, I decided to stay with Cable London. The calls are a little cheaper than BT, but not a great deal (although the monthly billing does help with budgeting!). You also lose certain services, such as 5 to redial an engaged number. I have a phone line with Cable London as well as NextCall. I kicked BT into touch a long time ago. I also have Cable TV (not digital, although it is available now) The good points of Cable London are that the line rental is cheap and the service pretty reliable. The cable TV offers all the main channels without the ugly dish. In London many places prohibit the use of dishes, so this is an important factor. The down side is that they do not have any decent internet package and that the call charges, although a bit cheaper than BT, aren't as heavily discounted as many of BT's rivals.
