After the total frustration of finding that BT's Surftime Anytime 24 hour access isn't available via BT themselves (and they wonder why they're a laughing stock?) and trying Freeserve only to find that they couldn't find my address listed by the Post Office so wouldn't accept me (they couldn't find my address?? Can they blow their noses?), I found a list of the (very few) ISP's who do host Surftime Anytime. Of these, few were suitable for those of us who prefer to pay by Direct Debit rather than credit card, and of those I looked at, several had poor ratings at the time from the sites which review ISP's. Chalkface is primarily a teacher's website, so I wasn't sure they'd accept me since I'm not a teacher; my e-mail asking about that was answered within 3 hours! I've been using them for over a month now, and although sometimes I get "bumped" several times in a period of a few hours, at other times I can be online for several hours without being cut-off once. When I do get disconnected, I have always simply clicked on again and had no problems. The only things I really have a niggle about are actually very minor - when I choose to work offline, the system sometimes insists on trying to reconnect me, and the home page keeps resetting itself AS my homepage despite my constantly trying to have the page of my choice. Can't have everything, I suppose, and it seems a small price to pay.
