Choosing an ISP is the first step anyone can take towards getting themselves connected to the net, and their choice is important. Choosing a bad ISP will mean slow internet access, with some ISPs being almost impossible to even connect to at certain times of day.

EasyNet is not one of these, I am pleased to say. For home users, they offer a decent range of services and their prices are not excessive. You pay for what you get and with Easynet, unlike the free providers, you are promised certain legvels of service.

They are a very fast ISP, and I have never had a problem connecting or with slow downloads. The time of day does not seem to make a difference to the level of service, which is a refreshing change. It is little things like this that help EasyNet to stand out from the rest.

They offer a range of services for business users as well, and here they really excel. Having toured their Brighton facilities, I was very impressed with what they are capable of. Their servers alone are hosted in a secure environment, and if the power ever cut out they have a 24 hour battery backup and a generator on the roof of the building, just in case.

Their technical support team is very helpful, and although the line is an expensive call, you are unlikely to end up waiting and can be fairly sure of having any problems solved straight away.

The only area they fall a little short is their friendliness. As part of a small web design company, I contact them on a regular basis, and with no dedicated account manager we enjoy none of the 'personal touch' that make calling other ISPs we use a pleasure.

Overall they are very efficient and very capable. Their service is excellent and if I had to name one thing that they could improve on, it is the way they treat small businesses. That is not to say that therem is anything wrong with it, but they lack any of the personal touch that can make it s pleasure calling your ISP...
