I have been using Fasthosts for a year now. I was warned before hand that they weren't the cheapest and certainly weren't the greatest for customer service and now I can honestly say I wish I hadn't have bothered.

My problems all started with the great password debacle, which I shouldn't really blame all on Fasthosts, it was one of those things I suppose but I will blame them. They took ages to change my passwords, they didn't tell me about them and I couldn't get through on the help line for ages. They were very apologetic and I let it rest and went about my daily business.

Today however they have really let them selves down. At 2am this morning, they invoiced me for £100 or so, for a hosting account which I haven't used for several months now. There was no warning on the my control panel it was up for renewal, there was no email saying my renewal was due (its a self managed account and I should check all my own invoices for renewal dates) and to top it off, there's no way in the control panel to cancel this hosting service, you have to write to them and request it to be canceled.

They won't issue a refund even though I want to cancel my account and have yet to make use of it. I've paid for a year from now and thats that. Its not even a day into the invoice period. Apparently, all this was in the small print which I would have read 12 months ago. To top it all off, I had to wait 40mins in the phone cue to find all this out.

In my opinion, Fasthosts offer terrible customer services, they are expensive and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. EVER!
