Rating:
Avoid these people at all costs.
Customer support: rude, patronising, slow, clueless, and usually wrong.
Sales: false promises and then spam you FOREVER.
Servers: frequent outages, endless errors.
Site builder: too many errors, incredibly slow.
They cannot be trusted to host anything remotely linked to business.

Disgusted- thought I had cancelled my package with them turns out I had not fully completed the process so they demanded a full years hosting fee or my credit rating might suffer.
I don't do business with companies who think £98 is more important than their reputation. I would have happily paid a % of the year but a whole year for something I wasn't using! Just after your money I would leave if I was you and don't join them.

I was a Fasthosts reseller years ago. The problem with Fasthosts starts at the top. They're run for quick turn-around capital return, which means that they really don't care if you eventually take your business elsewhere, there'll be another mug along in a minute. Directors are incentivised on that return, so they're never going to have a reason to focus on the customer. Much like Microsoft, who won't pay for other people's IPR this side of a court settlelemnt, if you sue Fasthosts, they won't even turn up in court. They just play the numbers.
The attitude and ethical standards of their MD pervades the entire organisation. If ever there was an example of the decline of ethical standards in business, Fasthosts is it.

I would rather shoot myself in the face than use Fasthosts ever again.
To say the service is shocking is too kind, it's more than shocking - it's sickening. The support team just couldn't care less, and are completely incompetent. I could go on for hours but perhaps the most useful review is to post an actual reply I received from a support person, after I requested an explanation as to why ALL the websites hosted through my reseller account had suddenly gone offline mid-week.
I quote "We are sorry to hear you were effected by the issue yesterday. Unfortunately there isn't an exact explanation of what happened as it effected all servers and platforms rather than any specific server. I have been lead to believe that if effected websites using PHP."
Brilliant. Keep up the good work Fasthosts - what a joke.

FASTHOSTS - ULTRA UNRELIABLE
I have been with them for about 2 years and have been puzzled why emails get lost both outbound and inbound. I thought it was a problem with my ISP Onetel who are pretty bad. Now I realise it's a Fasthosts issue, around 7th July 09 they had a service outage for about 4 days with some emails getting through and others not. LOTS of emails dissapeared down a black hole - gone forever!! No reply from Support 7 days on, so called and got through and was told it was a rare occurence. If you look through forums you will see this is a common issue with them. Basically you can never be sure with them that your email has been sent or that you have received everything. Ultra unreliable, when people tell you they never got your email it'll be true!!!

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Avoid like the plague. There is nothing 'fast' about Fasthosts. Constant email failure, useless hosting, non-existent customer support - oh it's there - they boast 24/7 support lines but you need 24 hours just to speak to someone who at best will be unpleasant and condescending. S***ehosts hey should be. Customer service is non existent. withdrawals taken from bank accounts in error.
The company breaches it's own terms and conditions.
They should be closed down.

Personally and maybe i am one of the lucky ones but i use Fasthosts for my hosting for clients websites and have had no problems with them at all.
