... was one of the lucky ones. I found freenetname by accident whilst surfing at work, and as soon as I got home, I immediately registered www.bruleo.co.uk with them. At first I was very sceptical about a company offering free domain name registration, especially as many others (at the time) were charging rather a lot. With freenetname you 'own' the domain name that you have registered: Indeed, I received my official certificate of ownership some 12 months after registering, although the small print says that they reserve the right to charge in the future. ... just as the name suggests, offer a free domain name and Dial Up Account. You can have anything.co.uk providing that it is availible. This other sounds too good to be true. And much to everyone's dissapointemnt, that is exactly what I found. I decided to log on to the free net name and take up the chance to get a free domain name. Upon reading all the terms and conditions I decided to click the register button. But to my dissapointment I discovered this notice appeared on the registration page. ... is a free internet which also gives you a free domain name too. This is all good except for when you want to check your email or upload something to your site, you have to use their service otherwise it will not work. The internet service is quite fast and a good thing is that they have a freephone number if you need any help. Although I use BTinternet Anytime, I still need to use FreeNetName to check my email or change stuff on my site, this is what i hate because i have to dial a local call and cant get it for free, although its only a few pence! oh well.
