freeola.com: Freeola - bad support (107 words)
by Jane52 - written on 23/01/07
Rating:

Problems with Freeola support. They are un-willing to look at anything coming up with a server error and simply send you away to look at their web pages - yet again. You are paying for this web space, so don't be fooled that it is a free service, and they should support this properly. Other issues, won't give you telnet connection ...  Read the complete review

I have only joined www.Freeola.com recently but I am so glad I did, I have left Aol where you can spend half your life in a phone queuing system waiting to talk to there support staff. I have phoned Freeola's support staff loads already so that I can host my website on my new domain name and I haven't had to queue once. The migration ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review freeola.com: Free hosting, but you get what you pay for, in my experience (841 words)
by - written on 25/06/03 (Very useful, 1031 readings)

Seems like I may just have been unlucky, but my experience with freeola (and getdotted.com, it's domain registering sibling) was one of the worst I have ever experienced. I registered a domain name with them which was to be used for the campaign to get broadband introduced to our local exchange. Since this was to be a short term ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Free at Freeola (357 words)

Rating:

I have been using Freeola for over 2 years, which was around the time Freeola began business and for ages I thought it was the best free ISP available. It is a non-subscription service, with phone calls charged at local rates, however there is no 0800 service available unlike many of today's ISP's. Signing-up for Freeola is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review freeola.com: A free ISP with as many bells & whistles as you want. (301 words)

Whilst looking around for an ISP to host k-t.madcows.co.uk (KittyKat's website), I stumbled accross Freeola and thought I'd check it out. For a start, you get a CGI-BIN that you can actually use! (CGI is the scripting tool that allows you to run guestbooks and counters etc) Not like the majority of free hosts (such as ...  Read the complete review

"Oh yes" I thought, "I've heard all this before". After all I did get my fingers burned with Red Hot Ant and didn't want to err this time. I had tried so many others and they in turn failed to deliver XSTREAM, TIMES and many more. Is this yet another! Hand on heart I can tell you right now that ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review freeola.com: Perfect 0845 access (586 words)

Rating:

www.freeola.com I went through a number of 0845 access, 'Pay as you go' style ISPs when I first got connected, when these services were only just popping up, Freeserve being the first. These days there are 100s, if not 1000s of services which charge no subscription fee, with your time online being charged at local rate through your ...  Read the complete review

OK - I have been searching for a while for a cheap, good all round ISP which includes: Domain names, Unlimited webspace, NO BANNERS, CGI access etc - and I have found it! My search is over and I am HAPPY! Freeola.com has getdotted which is a great (very good value) domain name seller. You can host it for free on their server and you get unlimited ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Best, and free! (179 words)
by - written on 28/12/00 (Useful, 105 readings)
Rating:

This is the undisputed king of free hosting services available on the internet today. The only problem is you have to connect through Freeola's ISP, which is free to use anyway, using your connection id. You can buy cheap domain names through Getdotted.com for £17 odd for .co.uk and slightly more for .coms. If you buy more than one, ...  Read the complete review

This is a great internet service provider, if you don't want to be paying out every £15 a time. You hear of other services offering 15mb of free web space, but freeola gives you unlimited web space. You also get unlimited e-mails using your web address, (yourname@yourdomain.com) and there are thousands of classified e-mails to choose from, ...  Read the complete review

overall a Good service. It is hard to get connected though. It takes around 15 tries on some occassions. You also get 20% off you phone calls. They are planning on charging soon though. If you sign up now though you will miss the 9.95 for connection. The on line and off line help is non exsistant. It also dis-connects every hour on the hour which ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Has its uses (137 words)

I have been a member of FreeOLA for just over a year now and have been satisfied with their service. Although I do not use them as my main ISP, I do find them very useful for sending faxes through their service where you send your fax to a special email address, with the number in the subject line, and they convert it to a fax. They also ...  Read the complete review
