When I first bought my p.c I had no idea which ISP would be the best so I picked up the Freeserve disc from Dixons. I was really happy with the service but as I work from home my quarterly phone bill through B.T was in the region of £300.
I was in the process of looking for a cheaper ISP when Freeserve started their Unlimited Freeserve Time package. This service provides 24/7 free internet calls for the small sum of £10 per month. I signed up staright away and it really is excellent. It was easy to download and install and just required me to change my internet settings. I recieve my monthly bill via e-mail and the £10 is taken from my bank account by direct debit.
I only use my second line for the internet but if you dial a prefix number before national calls then as long as you spend £10 on them this counts as your £10 charge.
I can now spend as long as I want on the internet without worrying about the cost but the disadvantage of this is that I've become completely addicted to it.
Freeserve must be making some money because this service saves me approx £270 per month and the only negative thing about this system is that it sometimes takes me a few attempts to dial up the connection.
