After reading so many negative reviews on Freeserve, I thought I'd write my own opinion on this excellent service. I have been using it for approximately 6 months now, and I have only had minor problems with the service. Shortly after joining up, I was getting very respectable speeds and (apart from very busy times) connecting on ... Read the complete review

I have been a member of Freeserve for a few years, firstly connecting via an Amiga 1200 computer. I found the service very slow but mostly that was down to my computer. Connection was never a problem, nor was staying connected. There was a limit of 2 hours and that still continues. I joined Freeserve Anytime recently, 2 months ago and ... Read the complete review

I joined up with "Freeserve Anytime" in February 2001 after several months of using a combination of Netline and IC24 - each of these provided a good service but the phone bills were getting out of hand. The Freeserve package costs £12.99 per calendar month and promises free access at anytime, 24 hours a day, with no call charges. ... Read the complete review

I have put off writing this for many, many months. Opinions about ISP’s tend to become out of date quite quickly, so you have to be sure you are getting (and giving) the most up to date information possible. The most highly rated opinions in many of the DooYoo ISP directories are many months or even years out of date. However, over the past ... Read the complete review

I have just had my first experience with Freeserve and thought that I ought to warn everyone. I have never had the urge to have Freeserve as my ISP. In my opinion they are too expensive, but what do I know? Well, quite a bit actually. Everyone I know who is with Freeserve has some sort of complaint. My complaint goes like ... Having been a Freeserve customer for over a year and during that time spent six months working on their Technical Support Helpline, (a job I have now thankfully left), I thought I would share my opinion on the ‘Uk’s Number One ISP’. Freeserve wasn’t the first ISP to offer a ‘free’ service, nor was it ... Read the complete review

I joined the internet revolution last September and chose Freeserve as my ISP (internet service provider). When I signed up, I was fortunate enough to see an ad in the paper for £5.99 a month unlimited access at evening and weekends for internet access. Since this time, I have enjoyed using the internet via freeserve. I am happy to ... Read the complete review

From reading alot of other users opinions their seems to be alot of you dissatisfied with the service that Freeserve provide. I myself have been using Freeserve for several months now and don't seem to have any problems. I am currently subscribed to the unlimited off-peak service at an extra cost of £5 per month. The Freeserve Anytime package is supposed to allow the user to have dial-up access 24/7 for a flat monthly rate (12.99), using a BT access code as prefix to provide a free call, but the BT network that is supposed to support this service seems hardly able to handle the traffic. Most times I have not been able to dial-up successfully, and have so ... Read the complete review

We decided to connect to freeserve because it is one of the few ISP that you could have, that allowed you to pay a fixed fee each month to BT for free off-peak internet access. However it was a disaster, we were paying all that money for free off peak internet phone calls and were never actually connecting to the internet. And on ... Read the complete review

I am sick of freeserve and cannot wait to change. At first it seemed alright but then I started to use the e-mail system on in it as my husband is working abroad and it is the only way to keep regular contact with him so I thought. I have not been able to e-mail him for a month as the system keeps throwing me out. It took me one night two hours ... Read the complete review

Freeserve, when first began to use to use this service was cheaper than the rest, but now the price is increasing quite rapidly. The service isnt really gettin much better either, however. Conection time is much better, there was a time when i took 50 tries to connect to the service, however it has gone down to below 5, which is a relief. ... Read the complete review

When I bought my computer I also collected a variety of the disks available for installing the necessary software to conect you to and help you register with an I.S.P (Internet Service Provider)-necessary to get on the internet. After trying a number unsucesfully, poor response times, constant crashes etc I eventually decided on Freeserve as an ... Read the complete review

I have been a user of Freeserve's Off Peak Time Internet access package since April 30th, 1999. They have since renamed this package and also increased their charges for it - now called HomeTime and costing £8.99 a month. You can also combine this package with BT's SurfTime packages. Freeserve maybe one of the more prominent ISP's but it is by no means the best. There is 3 main Internet packages – the basic pay as you go one, Freeserve Hometime –off peak calls for £8.99 a month and Freeserve Anytime which I used to subscribe to. There is also a high-speed service for £39.99 a month and £150 ... Read the complete review

As you may have gathered from the title, this opinion is about the lack of service that I seem to recieve. How many times do you feel on average should it take on average to connect? I feel that it should really be under 2, definately not over it. So when I did a survey on my Freeserve connections over a week, what do you think my ... Read the complete review

I have been a member to the Freeserve unlimited service for over 6 months now due to my sons heavy use of the internet.
