GioInternetNewest Review: ... a short email (no attachments) informing me of my username and password. Then - nothing. I phoned again to be told that they were snowed under with work, that there'd been a mix-up in informing BT and that I'd probably be connected the following Thursday - but they'd phone me on Thursday. I won't write this because you guessed. So I phoned them to be told it was in hand. It ... more |

Yes it is cheap. Yes it is easy to sign up. Then the waiting begins. Firstly they charge almost £60 for connection+a 1 month deposit+the first month's subscription. - about £100 in total but still cheap over a year. You are told that you will receive regular emails to keep you informed of how it is developing. You are told that it takes 7-10 working days for BT to activate the line (probably true) After 2 weeks I'd heard nothing - so I phoned and was told I would be activated about 3 days later. I then received a short email (no attachments) informing me of my username and password. Then - nothing. I phoned again to be told ... Read the complete review

I reserched ISP's for a good few days before deciding to go with Gio Interent. I wieghed up the connection fees and the monthly line rental and decided to go with gio because, like most people, i haven't got money to throw away. however not only are they a total waste of money but they took more money out of my bank than i authorised. This is theft. It has been two weeks since i paid this money, i have not heard anything from gio nor been connected to anything, i'm currently talking to the bank to try and take further action and to recover my money. Calling Gio Internet is the biggest waste of time aswell. There staff are really rude and ... Read the complete review

I applied for an ADSL connection with Giointernet on 14 May 2003 and was promised connection within 7 - 10 working days. Unfortunately I paid by debit card for 2 months connection, activation, a modem and two filters. To date I am still waiting for connection. The excuses I have been given range from their servers being faulty to blaming BT for activation of the telephone line. I have since found out that they sent me faulty modem so I returned it back to them on the promise that they will send me a new one. I am still waiting! My numerous emails and telephone calls to get the matter looked into have been in vain. Their customer service is non existent and ... Read the complete review

I wish to bring to the publics attention that GIO-internet is by far the worst ISP I've ever dealt with. I have dealt with many Internet Service Providers who offer a professional service. After all, we work for what we pay for and we expect feedback now and then. My experience with GIO-Internet was that you sign-on line, we take your money via the middleman called World-pay or Futurepay from your current account. Well now... This is where everything goes pear-shaped. Don't call us we call you attitude! I decided a month ago that I wanted to go Broadband and change ISP's According to Gio-internet you have to write them ... Read the complete review
