UPDATE: So it is the end of the road, no more free access from today 1st June 2001. A great shame as they have provided me with excellent service. I shall now only dial up on weekends and bank holidays to service my website when my telephone company will charge me 1p/minute for the local access number. I have joined another isp which I ... After the recent problems which seem to have plagued the Internet Service Provider industry, with the demise of several companies offering free unmetered access I was keen to find a provider to replace LineOne, who I had been using for the past 3 months quite happily. After scouring the web, magazines and anything else I could find I ... Read the complete review

Free unlimited internet access via 0800 weekdays from 8pm - 12pm and weekends 9am - 5pm, where's the catch here then - there isn't one. When ic24 announced their 0800 service people flooded the phone lines and the service was very busy and still is on weeknights but at weekends you shouldn't have a problem connecting - bare in mind ... Update at bottom. I first saw an advert for IC24 in The Mirror newspaper when they were offering free access between 9 - 5 on a Sunday. At this time I was already connecting to the internet through both X-Stream and Stray Duck. X-Stream offered 0800 access and Stray Duck 1 week in 3 on 0800 freecall depending on usage during the other 2 ... Read the complete review

I started using ic-24 at home in the summer as i was using my parents phone line and didn't want to run up a big bill to have to pay back. The service is easy to set up on your computer by going to their website (however that requires you to have SOME interet acess first) You get free time on-line between 8-12pm weekdays and 9-5pm at ... I subscribed to ic24 only last week and use it whenever I connect to the Internet, although I don't use the email account because I prefer a web-based one from another ISP I am signed up with. There are often several attempts before I can connect, but I think this is fair as I am paying no call charges - in fact, I am not paying anything at ... Read the complete review

WHAT'S THE CATCH: Well there isn't one really, the bottom line is the service really is totally free, via a free phone access number. You can only use the service via the free phone number between 9am-5pm weekends and between 8pm and 12 weekdays, outside these times you can use a local rate number if you choose. ... When I first saw the advert for the completely free trial on the television, I thought that this must be another one of those ISPs that say free but end up giving you a hidden payment like monthly subscriptions. I went to pick up the CD anyway but when I inserted it into my computer I was astonished to find out that there were no monthly ... Read the complete review

In the past I have used IC24 and it is an easy and free way of using the Internet if you don't wish to regsiter and pay for any other deals currently available. The only limitation is that free time is between 8pm and 12am Monday - Friday and between 9am and 5pm at the weekends. IC24 can often be difficult to connect too, due to ... Read the complete review

IC24 offers you free connection to the internet with absolutely no call charges whatsoever after 8pm on weeknights and between 9am and 5pm during weekends. You dial into a free 0800 number and are connected for an hour at a time before you are automatically logged off and have to reconnect. The service is fairly fast, but like so many ... I had heard mixed opinions about ic24 but when Lineone ended its deal I thought it was worth a try. Thirty-six hours a week free of even phone charges seemed interesting. Registration from their site was simple and quick. Unlike some people I have had little trouble in connecting and speeds are good. Then I got my phone bill and saw one call in ... Having seen TV adverts, I went to one of the esso garages and picked up a CD. During installation I was forced to upgrade my Internet Explorer to the latest version. The problem was, I could not access the net using IC24 ISP. There appeared to be some problem with the IE that was upgraded as part of the installation. As I could not uninstall the ... Following much word by mouth hype and television advertising, I decided to give IC24 a go. The truth is, it isn't anything special. Free net access periods are hard to get connections at, but when on the connection is reasonably speedy and reliable. Other times allow good access, but for 1p a min it isn't really anything revolutionary. Its ... Read the complete review

I started using IC24 when it first launched, and was one of the first to sign up while it was just free access 9-5 at the weekend. I found this to be not enough time for me, so I subscribed to the FreeInternet (TFI). But, now IC24 offers free access each evening as well, I wish I hadn't. Considering that you pay absolutely no fee to ... Read the complete review

I looked at IC 24 a few months ago and I wished I had signed up then. Why? it’s simple…. IC 24 run on the refreshing concept that you can have free Internet connection and they can still make money. During Peak hours you have to use a 0845 number (lo-call rate) and during off peak hours you can connect using the 0800 ... Read the complete review

IC24 have got a really great deal going here - free surfing in the evening from 8pm until midnight, and then on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am until 5pm. The service is incredibly fast, I got speeds of up to 49,333 on my modem, and I averaged 45,333 with Freeserve. 1-0 to IC24. Connectivity can be a little difficult, but ... Read the complete review

I have been using IC24 for a couple of months now. On the whole I'm happy with the service as it stands. Currently you get free access (no call charges) if you connect between 8pm & 12midnight Mon to Fri, and between 9am & 5pm Sat/Sun. This offer has been extended to run until the end of the year, so I stay with them until then. ... Read the complete review

Extending their very generous free time offer from the end of October to the end of December, you’ve got to be wondering if ic24 are slightly mad. To build up customer loyalty, it’s a very expensive exercise for them but I for one, I’m thankful for it, as it cuts down my phone bill. Beware that when you think ... Read the complete review

IC24 is an ISP that offers a limited free Internet connection. This is done by dialling an 0800 (free phone) number. There's no monthly charge. You don't have to do anything in order to get this offer apart from going to the web site (or getting a CD from somewhere) and signing up. When you first sign up, your computer ...
