Fasthosts.co.uk ... had been using Fasthosts for some 6 months, using their reseller account and had been reasonably pleased, however upon my recommendation I transferred a major client to Fasthosts. Well what a disaster, they have changed their reseller control panel and basically rolled out a system that doesn t work. We had intended moving some live sites from my Fasthosts account to theirs, a simple job you would think, well no absolute disaster 4 days in and sites still not live. This is a totally unaccepable situation and this needs to to highlighted. Tiscali (Lineone) ... am going to tell you about my experience with Tiscali. They were meant to give me an 8gb package for home broadband. Firstly the moden/rotuer that they were meant to supply never turned up after following them up a few times they never responded and I never got the router that came with the package. Then when I have experienced internet problems they will disconnect the line on you while you are in the que waiting to talk to one of their technical support helpine reps. When I finally got through they only let me know that for the last 2 years of billing they had not ever given me the 8gb package that I was signed up for. virgin.net ... have been with Virgin for several years - in fact, since it was NTL. I signed up and joined the computer revolution when I realised that my daughter seemed to be the only one in her class with out a home PC. Installation of cables was ok and not too destructive. The contract was initially for 18 months which I was not too pleased about did not prove too much of a problem as I have stayed for years anyway. Problems have always been solved in a timely manner but often, just as I want to watch an On Demand programme, it is temporarily unavailable .
