iomart ADSLNewest Review: ... was a message left on my infrequently checked mobile phone. No news of username or password or any set-up CD like I had with BT Openworld. The day of installation - the BT engineers turned up very early on during their slot and performed the faceplate install very quickly. Tests all worked fine, and they showed that the connection working on their laptop. All well and good. I called IOMart who then mixed up my personal account with the office account and they had to set-up a new account on the @adslnet1.com domain for me. I approached Iomart originally to look at providing a solution for replacing my employer's current 512k leased line (it was getting very expensive for them to maintain) with a 2Mb ADSL connection. I myself was also moving into a new area (near work, in fact) and needed a new ADSL provider since BT Openworld were being very awkward. I decided to go with Iomart on both accounts as they appeared to have a good technical knowledge of ADSL, couldn't find anything that said bad things about them (unitl I came to ADSLguide two days ago!) and they were trialing lots of new stuff so they seemed to be quite competent with their own products. We had ADSL installed by Iomart early January, after a few minor teething problems like the modem kept tripping out the power on the usb port, I'm not sure whether this was the data throughput or the current the modem used, (an old PII motherboard). I've just upgraded to a new socket A mobo and Duron 750 processor and now the ADSL is flying. We are a small office on three of us so the business options were too expensive, but with a little technical know how. I have networked up the office using Analog X proxy, stuck on a firewall and all the PCs now have 24-7 internet access. Download speeds are monstrous, best yet is about 65K per ...
