Like everyone it seems, I am addicted to the thing known as 'Text Messages' through my mobile phone.

There are two things I do not like about SMS is the phones keypad and the cost, so when I saw the television advert for this particular free product/service, I was more than keen to 'give it a go'.

There is no need to register with Lycos and once you have read the instructions and rules. You can type up to 130 characters and there are a number of 'themes' to choose from. The user can also send sms to other European countries and although lycos include a small advert at the end of the message they are sent fast and it proves to be a reliable service.

So text messaging is fast, reliable, easy and above all free. Simply type in the number you wish to send to, then the message then click on submit and away the message goes.

Although some wonder about the reliable of such services, although I have not tried any other like offerings I have had not apprant problems with lycos.co.uk and if you have a mobile phone suggest you give it go!
