I dialled the prefix, when I remembered, and two times out of three (Yes, I did keep note) I got ̶ 0;the number you have dialled has not been recognised”. I’m running a business here. I have to talk to people, sometimes, without delay. So when this ... more

Premium Review NextCall: >>UPDATE<< Breaking the Rules (1249 words)

Apparently, Nextcall has ceased trading. Scroll down if you've read the original opinion. The obituary's at the bottom. >>ORIGINAL OP<< I‘m breaking all the rules here. This should be a well-balanced, objective opinion. But it’s a bit of a rant. I’m sorry, but I’m just being honest. I was convinced by a very plausible Nextcall rep that this was the best telecom deal since sliced haggis. I’m not usually that gullible, and I did read all the small print which was made available to me at the time. NextCall telecom (www.nextcall.co.uk) is a fixed line operator that uses BT's network, charging you for the line rental and BT calls - you don't get a bill from BT. The service is identical to BT's, but calls are up to 50% cheaper for long distance and international calls - 25% for local calls In itself that is quite attractive but now they are offering free internet access (i.e. unmetered) in the evening and all weekend - no hidden charges or conditions (as long as you are a customer with your phone, there are no minimum call spend conditions). The internet portal site is at www.nextcall.net. If you use the internet heavily during ...  Read the complete review
