Nildram.comNewest Review: ... However, they've gone right down in my estimation. I've just moved house, and they wanted to charge me another £58.75 to enable my new phone line - the explanation being that BT charges them etc etc. They wouldn't even consider giving me a discount, apparently because their margins are very low etc etc. I told them I might as well go to Bulldog and get two megabits for the same monthly cost if I was going to have to pay £58.75 anyway. "Fine," they said, "that's your choice." It's no wonder their margins are so low with that kind of business acumen - they'd rather lose an ongoing £40 ... more |

When I first signed up to Nildram's wires-only Megabit Broadband service I was delighted because it was a huge improvement over the unreliable Freeserve 512k service I'd had for the previous 12 months. Although they weren't the cheapest, I went with Nildram because of the Customer Service recommendations they received on adslguide.org.uk. However, they've gone right down in my estimation. In common with most ISP's, Nildarm offer a wires-only service so that you supply the hardware of your choice. That's ideal for me but if that's not your cup of tea then they will also happily sell you a DSL router or modem. I ordered my £22.99/month DSL, they confirmed it immediately. I got a start date from them, BT turned it all on without a site visit and it was ready to go. Just set up the dial up according to their instructions and it worked. Simple as that. No fuss. No bother. In use all the time from 9 in the morning to 8 or 9 at night, it's never glitched once. That's how it should be done. And ... Read the complete review

I've been a Nildram subscriber for almost 7 years. I came across them when the BBS I used for internet access (and for the youngsters amongst you, BBS stands for Bulletin Board System - it's what we old timers used before the internet was accessible to the masses) went belly up and Nildram took over their old users. When I first started using Nildram, they only offered basic internet access - none of the 'Unlimited mail addresses, unlimited webspace' deals that many ISPs offer now (although, strangely enough, Nildram still don't). All I want from an ISP (and this hasn't changed much in the last 7 years!) is a quick, reliable connection, ... Read the complete review

I've used Nildram for over 3 years now for dial-up, email and hosting of a large website. For the majority of that time I was extremely impressed. However, Nildram have thrived in that time too and the company has grown from being a very small company with excellent personal service to one where all the experts have been elevated out of front line support and customer service leaving inexperienced people. Whilst a few of the team are very helpful and do try their best, some of them have proved to be complete jobsworths and very patronising. I used to recommend Nildram wholeheartedly, but recently they've been the cause of a lot of ... Read the complete review

Nildram ADSL, no Dial-up. After reading some glowing reviews of Nildram (elsewhere), I chose them to be my ADSL provider. That was the best decision I could have made. From day one, their support has be prompt and knowledgeable. There were a few hiccups initially (my login needed a CAPITAL letter) but since then it's been reliable. I use newsgroups alot and had the joy of downloading binaries at 65k/sec consistantly...until their ng provider decided Nildram users were too heavy for their systems to cope and we now have to live with 30k downloads ;-( Also, there have been delays with their new 155mb pipe installation, BUT ...
