NTL are still currently the best for service (NTL)

Advantages: Cheap, Good service through TV, Phone, and Internet, Friendly and professional staff

Disadvantages: Long waiting time for customer services, Line rental charges are now high

I have been with NTL since it first came into the area of Nottingham where its Head Office is based, so I have been with them for a good few years now. NTL are still rapidly expanding their products and services on offer to their customers up and down the country.

*Why the change to NTL*

I originally went with NTL due to them offering free calls to other NTL users in the area, which became very popular, and our phone was always in use, and still is, so we now have two lines installed. However, NTL have done away with the free calls and now charge a 0.042 pence connection charge. I have not regretted the change from BT to NTL for the following reasons;

I still know a lot of people that are joining NTL and my phone bill is still coming down, but the difference is very little as I dont use the phone that often now.

The local and national calls work out to be very cheap, and I have not known the phone connection to be disrupted for any major reasons like the weather. My calls now cost me about £12, which would have been more £17 a month, which I am happier about.

*Types of payment packages*

As the calls are cheaper, we decided to change from sky satellite to cable TV as the price was more than half the price at the time (this was about 4 years ago), and you have more packages to choose from. Unlike sky where you have a few packages, and there are some channels you dont need, and it is them you know that is keeping the price high, cable can give it you on Pay Per View option which is quite handy. This comes in very nice especially with films.

As their are so many packages, I cannot possibly write them all down, so if you are interested, you can visit their web site and then you can also find out if you can receive their services in your area.

*Internet*

The third change I made went on to was NTL world (their internet package), as if you have a NTL line, you get the internet access free,
but only at 2 hours at a time 24 hours a day before having to reconnect (please read article NTL Internet written on the 18/06/2001).

NTL have now brought out in the past year and a half, 24 hour connection via cable to the internet which allows you to make calls as well as being on the internet over the same line. Even if you are not on NTL cable phone, you can still get I have been with NTL since it first came into the area of Nottingham where its Head Office is based, so I have been with them for a good few years.

The only disadvantage is that NTL has just put up their line rental, so now with two phone lines it costs for line rental about £15 which means that it has about doubled.
