Advantages: Totally free
Disadvantages: might have to wait
I have just signed up with NTL after being on IC24. This really is too good to be true, unlike IC24 where you only have free internet access at certain times, ie 8-midnight weekdays, 9-5pm weekends, NTL is free 24 hours a day and it doesn't cost a penny. All it cost is £10 each month which goes on phone calls, so as long as your phone bill is not less than £10 each month it won't cost you anything. We were, and still are with B.T that is to say we still use their phone line, which is all we pay to B.T, as now all our calls go through NTL by dialing a certain number before making calls, this is only until we get a box sent to us, then all you do is switch over to NTL whenever you make a call. NTL phone calls are also cheaper than B.T, a long distance call to Finland for example cost 80p a minute through B.T but only 20p a minute with NTL, a big difference!!! To sign up with NTL all you do is order a disc from them, which I must admit did take a while to arrive, we waited about 2 months, it is so easy to install, it only takes about 10 minutes, and you get connected first time every time!!! unlike IC24 which sometimes too over half an hour to get connected, you also get 2 hours before getting disconnected, but always get straight back on. So if your looking for complete free internet access I thoroughly recommend NTL. To contact them, online:www.ntlworld.com Or phone them on 08001831234 "update" After being with NTL for three months I havn't had any problems whatsoever getting on-line, also my phone bill has been reduced by about £30 a quarter. "UPDATE" I Have updated this opinion, as since I first wrote it the amount you have to spend on calls each month have gone up from £10 to £15, otherwise it is still a great way of getting 24 hour free internet access, and we still spend at least £15 a month on calls so it really doesn't make much difference. <
br>Even if you don't spend £15 one month you'd still get charged £15, so it's still great value!!

- 10/04/01 Sounds like everyone who uses NTL likes it- anyone who doesn't? (just to get a balance before I go with gail's recommendation!) |

- 06/04/01 I'm with BT anytime and it's been really good - better than AOL was and no annoying navigating screens or Connie either! It would take a lot to budge me from BT! |
