Advantages: Fast, Always One, Cheap

Disadvantages: BT = Expensive, Not in every area

NTL are starting to make a name for themselves now as a major operator in all fields of communication. They do TV, phone, dial up internet and broadband internet

I have the TV and the broadband service from NTL and to be honest I find the service great. At first I had no choice for the TV because I could not have a dish, but I was surprised to find out how good it really was and I think it matches sky any day.

I rate the broadband internet the best at the moment better than any other Broadband operator around. If we compare NTL with Bt for high speed internet access we find that Bt are charging 20 odd pound a month more for a service that does not even match NTL.

NTL BB connects through there own cable extension which is like the one used on the TV. Bt however uses a copper wire system which is not as fast and also expensive to buy.

You must be 5km from the telephone exchange to be able to use BT which is also another major downfall of the service

With NTL you just have to be in a NTL area. I found this allot better, I am in the middle of town and I cant even use the BT one. NTL has a much wider range and more and more of the UK is able to use NTL

The great thing about the service is that it never disconnects like it does when you dial up through windows. You are on all the time for as long as you want all for one monthly price.

The speeds are the biggest improvements to that of 56k. You will get around 15 times faster downloads and everything is just allot easier

When comparing the speeds between NTL and BT there is not really much difference except the price you pay for them

NTL are not in a good financial state at the moment but they still offer a good cheap reliable service which you should consider before going to BT. I was going to BT but I changed and I think that the NTL service is loads better.

Just got broadband 2 weeks ago, works very well at the faster speed (£25/ month) intend to try the slower speed at £15 when the first month is up. Disapointing that NTL stopping the free internet via phone line but as they owe so much it's hardly surprising is it.
