Broadband at an affordable price (O2 Broadband)

I first signed up to O2 broadband over a year ago. At the time I migrated from BE unlimited to a £10/month package with O2. This seemed like a bargain especially compared to what I had paid for broadband in previous years. However this price is only available on condition that one either signs up to a 1 year mobile contract or tops up their pay as you go o2 mobile with a minimum £10 every 3 months. I opted to obtain a o2 pay as you go sim card.

O2 broadband is run on the same network as BE so performance is very similar. My router is connected at a stable 16mb and I seem to be able to download the usual torrents and high bandwidth files off the internet without any problems. I also regularly use Skype which doesn't appear to be a problem. Despite downloading large files this has not prompted any complaints. Overall in terms of broadband performance one cannot fault o2.

The subsription also comes with a free o2 speedtouch wireless box. Initially I received the wireless O2 box I but my first box failed and I received a replacement wireless o2 box. Overall the O2 box version I is vastly superior since it has a faster interface and wireless distribution enabled.

For anyone signing up, make sure you check out hotdeals since there are many cashback deals with quidco offering even greater savings. When I signed up I receive approx £40 back with quidco.

Overall at only £10/month for 16MB broadband, this is the equivalent of only 10,000 dooyoo miles, making it easily affordable. I highly recommend O2, however I would advise one to buy a different router for best performance.
