Advantages: No hidden costs
Disadvantages: None so far
After being a loyal customer to Orange for roughly 10 years with a touch of One-to-no-one mixed in, I decided to give o2 a try.
Orange had made a number of blunders with my account and when I received an upgrade which turned out to have a number of defects against it because of the added Orange software, I decided to move on.
I took a phone out on an 18 month contract at £35 per month. Support was provided in the form of a number of text messages which I held onto for future reference. I was having trouble with reception in my flat and around my mates - a good 5 miles away. Reception was amazing at both sites including 3G access and no drop outs.
After the first month my bill arrived.... £35. This really surprised me after my experiences with Orange... My bill was never on the rental amount, it was always £5 over for some reason I never really understood.
My bills have continued to remain at £35, except I now benefit from the VAT discount. I get much better reception from the o2 network wherever I am.
After moving from Orange, I can honestly say o2 are a much better provider, however I haven't had any cause to complain yet which Orange dealt with quite well....
Summary: A great service with simple pricing plans...and no hidden charges at the end of the month.
