Advantages: easy going customer services, value for money
Disadvantages: only the fact i lose my phones??? does that count
I have been a contract customer with o2 continously for the past 8 years (time flies). I have had bad experiences with other network providers with things like charging me for text messages when they are supposed to be free, making it difficult for me to retain my number when I want to switch networks so being with o2 has been like a breath of fresh air.
There have been many moments over the past few years where they have really stood out for me.
1. I have been with o2 since I was 18 up until now (26 yrs of age), all the way through my care free student life. I have changed my tariff on a regular basis to suit my changing financial positions over the years. This has been no problem to o2.
2. There has been twice where my phone has been lost (again blaming the student life). O2 have been exceptionally quick in cancelling the use of the phone, and sending me a new sim card with the same number which i can use in another phone.
3. More recently, I was paying £40 per month but saw an offer through a website in which I could have exactly the same contract and a free gift worth about £250. I rang O2 to cancel the contract but instead, they offered me the opportunity to reduce my payment for life, which would theoretically allow me to purchase something of that value every year. My payments were reduced with immediate effect to £20 per month and they gave me unlimited texts as a valued customer!
Happy days!
My fiance could not wait to ugrade his phone, he was with o2 but he transferred to vodafone (yes paying two contracts for a short while). He is tied in to an 18 month contract but rang o2 after 6 months and asked if they would reward him for going back to them after seeing the cost of his calls through vodafone.
They could of been awkward as his contract with them had expired, but instead, they sent out his old number on a pay & go sim card so he could be classed as an ongoing customer, and will welcome him back in the next few months and give him the same deal I was offered.
Don't think he will leave them again!!
No problems for me but make your own mind up!
Summary: Will never leave!!!
