Advantages: Some great renewal offers - saving me a fortune

Disadvantages: They won't give me a free iPhone

I've been an O2 customer for around 5 years now and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with them.

My contract (which I purchased online) is still pretty good by today's standards and I've always been impressed by their renewal offers.

I don't use my phone an awful lot - I don't call people too much and I'm not an addictive texter, so £19 per month is a fair bit to be spending on my phone bill... however O2 don't seem to want to lose your business as their last couple of renewals have been pretty good...

For the last 2 years I've received £100 credit to my bill (so I'm effectively getting 5 months free per year), plus £5 per month off of my line rental. So instead of £228/year (£19 x 12 months), I'm actually paying £68 per year (£5.67 a month) - saving £160! Not bad!

In general, I've always found that the O2 network is quite good as I'm not often out of range, and their customer service team seems pretty good at responding to emails. Coupled with their good renewal offers, I'm pretty happy!

Summary: Very highly recommended for good service and great renewal offers

They give it to me as credit. My renewal time was January, so I haven't actually paid anything to O2 this year - Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr and May were all free for me - no money going out of my bank account! :)

I'm ready to upgrade at the mo - when you get the £100 credit to your bill, does that mean you don't have to pay anything for a while - or does it just mean money off call charges?
