Advantages: Generous and fair tariffs; Good customer services

Disadvantages: Expensive to ring Vodafone on my tariff

I've been with O2 for years because I think their tarriffs are fair and customer service has always been brill.

I'm on pay as you go on the O2 Unlimited tariff and that suits me wicked because nearly everyone in my phonebook is on O2 so by topping up £15.00 a month I get unlimited calls and texts to them. The price to phone another network is quite high on this tariff though, especially to ring Vodafone because I've got 2 mates on Voda and a quick 2 minute phonecall to them costs me about £1.00.

If you top up £10.00 you get unlimited texts to O2 but still have to pay for the calls so I reckon it's worth the extra fiver to get the free phone calls as well.

Other tariffs include free texts or free minutes. My dad's on the free minutes and he gets 50 minutes a month because he tops up £10.00 but for £15.00 he could get 100 minutes and I don't know why he doesn't do that. My sister's 10 and when she got her phone me and my mum said we'd take it in turns topping her up, she texts her little friends a lot so I put her on Text Anytime and she gets 300 free texts for a £10.00 top up which I think is fair and just right for her.

Every time you top up you get a Surprise code texted through to your phone. When you enter this on the O2 site you get a go at a hook a duck game, each duck has got a surprise on the bottom and if you've topped up £15.00 or more you get 2 goes and can choose between the prizes. To be honest the surprises are never much good for me because I usually get stuff like free minutes that's got to be used in the next 24 hours and most of my calls are free anyway. I had a wicked one last month though, free evening and weekend picture messages for a week and the best thing was it conincided with 2 big nights out so I shared all my snaps for free!

One month when I was on the free texts tariff I didn't get them but 1 phonecall to customer services got it sorted and because they'd made a mistake and changed my tariff to an international calls one the lady at customer services gave me 14 days free browsing too. I thought that was proper generous because that's going back some time when mobile internet was loads more expensive than it is now. You have to pay 25p flat fee to call customer services and that's the only bad thing because even if the problem is their fault it's coming out of your credit.

I think O2 is wicked though and have never had a reason to complain about them, I know people on Orange and Vodafone and have heard them moaning about reception and the price of calls and can't see why they don't change to the mega reliable O2.

"I know people on Orange and Vodafone and have heard them moaning about reception"

Think that's just where you live, mate - I'm on Vodafone because it's the best reception near me!
