Advantages: great deals/friendly staff

Disadvantages: for me nothing

I have been a customer of 02 for over 10 years(back when they were BTCellnet) and would never rate them anything less than 5/5 despite having a couple of disputes with them. Any time I have raised a concern or complaint my account generally will get a credit and I will leave the conversation happy again.

I made the switch from pay as you go to contract instore about 5 years ago and think my naivety of the phone market helped negotiate down the advisor so i got the handset i wanted on the deal i wanted. I took insurance without really understanding what it was however when my phone ended up in a river they dealt with it efficiently and sent me a recondition handset promptly.

Since then every time I am eligibleI have managed to improve my deal whilst getting the handset i want although at times not without some hard negation and several calls with the commission hungry sales staff! On matters of these natures i find best to call between 7-8(as by then most staff have hit their targets) mention your aware that phone market has matured and a competitor will do the deal you want

At Present i am paying £20 for 600 anytime mins, 1200 txt and which comes with Backberry curve on 18month basis. This deal is more than suitable for my needs. Also was very happy that as being a o2 customer they offered a discount for my broadband at £7.50 a month.

In terms of the service I rarely use the stores so would be unfair to review them, whilst using the phone service the staff 9 times out 10 are friendly, polite and do their best to help. The problem with all call centres though is public expectation, we expect the person to answer the phone to be informed on every aspect of 02 service from billing to complaints, tech problems, upgrades, retention etc this simply would be impossible so at times your call may go round the houses so to speak but I have always found that I get there in the end. The website is functional but could be a little more user friendly.

From the companies i contact regularly 02 offers the best customer service and deals without doubt. Although worringly my girlfriend hates them and has had nothing but problems.

Summary: cheap, easy to use no problems

weird how 02 tend divide opinion, i have had a couple of cock ups one to the tune of £100 but they sorted it with 24hrs with a credit to that amount and a £20 gesture of good will.

When I was on O2 (few years ago now) their call centres drove me bonkers so I left. They seemed to cock my bill up every month and getting it resolved was a nightmare. I find the signal/coverage with Vodafone is generally better too.
