Newest Review: ... the equiptent to arrive and for the internet to go live. In the box that arrives is a usb adsl speedtouch modem, 2 x adsl filters, 1 x 1 metre phone cable and an installation cd. The setup was very straitforward and i did successfully first attempt. Then i was off there was no stopping me (up to 120 kbps download) i had 6 months of blissfull internet surfing with only one point where i had no access through a BT fault. the phone calls werent as cheap as we expected sometimes being over £30 just for calls which you dont expect when you got free landline calls but we knew that we did a lot of call centre calls so we accepted it as thats jus... more

This one is a bit of a sore point for me as they have really messed me about, but i will be as inpartial as is possible as otherwise it's unfair to everyone else. I first signed up with onetel about 1 year and half ago, they were not very well known at all and there were very few reveiws available so i took a bit of a chance. they offer very limited packages which is good for me as i can never make my mind up, the package i went for was: £23:99 512k + £6.01 for free calls to any landline at any time, total cost of £30.00 very reasonable (or so we thought), from the off it was all very smooth 10 days for them to get in touch ... Onetel claims to provide a low-cost telephone service, this is partially true but isn't all its cracked up to me. Plus points *Online billing/account service is quite good. *International calls are quite cheap. *The ISP and other services are of moderate value and atleast you can have everything on the one bill. *I used the internet provider for a while and it was reliable and quite fast. Minus points *Very high connection fee per call which means its not good value for money if your calls are short. *Mobile call rates are not that good. *Customer service is average a best, I had problems when I moved address and wanted ... the worst customer service you could imagine, don't trust their marketing, and you'll find that you have made phantom calls, any disputes about your bill and you'l be stonewalled and they would love to have easy access to your bank account which if you told your bank to cancel will land you with further penalty points. These companies and the whole state of telecoms and energy liberlisations makes you wonder why! we've become a bunch of morons looking for a cheap deal, whereas for all intents and purposes all telecoms services are so cheap to run that these idiots, i mean if you can have a call centre in out mongolia for your banks how cheap are phone .. You read the title? Good. Unmetered. One Tel actually means it. Unlike BT Openworld who limit you to 150 hours online a month, or Freeserve who say that their service is unmetered but get annoyed when you use it too much, One Tel allow you to be online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The connection is good, it disconnects every two hours as per all ISPs these days, but you can set windows to reconnect! The only fault is onetel's newsgroup server. Carrying netcom's old groups, but doesnt carry some high profile groups that freeserve does, for example alt.consumers.uk-freebies - no matter though as Google Groups (www.deja.com) carries ... Onetel was recently awarded 'ISP of the year' and deservedly so. The service offered by onetel is outstanding. There are a variety of ISP packages to suit anyone. There's 'pay as you go' where you pay only 1p per minute and monthly Subscription packages are as low as £3.99. Unlimited access is only £9.99 per month. There is no tie when joining Onetel as there is no minium contract (usually there is a 12-month contract with the likes of freeserve and BT). You may choose and register an internet package either over the phone or on-line. The on-line service offers a 'package wizard' whcich is very effective in choosing the ... Read the complete review
