Advantages: They're logo's nice and the services they offer are avergae
Disadvantages: Rubbish customer services, Aborad call centres, Rip off
I have been a valuable customer of Orange for many years now, and still I am fairly disappointed at they're lack of customer servicing skills and the way they deal with a formal and written complaint.
After purchasing my first Orange phone in 2005 which was a sagem my511x, I felt that I had received a decent and valuable phone at the time, and messing around with the phone itself was entertaining and time-consuming. However after my first breakdown in 2006, after phoning to ask what I should do, I was placed on hold no less than 6 times and even then they couldn't solve my problem.
The only way I could have recieved my money back was through a warraunty, which I did not have as it ran out 1 month before the initial breakdown. So being the loyal customer I remained with orange after being tempted by a Sony Ericsson on for a bargain £40. This paticular model was a nightmare!
It fell apart in my hands and after a trip to the phoe shop I was told The battery hardware had died. So back on the phone to orange and they could not be less bothered.
They told me that I was using it wrong? and that I was too aggressive with the phone?
Excuse me Mate but I'm afraid I know how to press a few numbers.
Minus the terrible service Orange do a ok job on the whole, they have a range of services to save you money and you can cancel your mobile at any time if you know the identity code.
The one thing that does let Orange down is the breakdown of communication through the phone, Time and time again I lose signal to the orange respondant as most of they're call centres are abroad, so as a UK resident it leaves me in a poor position with regards to connecting to Orange representatives.
I am now on Vodafone as I think the Orange service is willing to con you for everything your worth and not return what is rightfully yours.
Thanks for reading
Summary: Vodafone is the one your after
