Advantages: It does what it says on the packet
Disadvantages: Better value products are out there.
Over the past I have heard quite a few bad things about ORange, I must say I haven't really experienced any problems.... so far!
I have been with Orange (as a pay monthly customer) for about three years now. I intially went with them when they first introduced the Animals packages, I didn't really shop around at the time and jumped on board just because I wanted a new phone. My inital experience of the company was quite pleasant, I had been with them before on a pay as you go basis but this time it was something a little different. There are so many Orange stores around it's hard to find a time when you can't talk to someone face to face. So I walked in and signed up on contract, there connection line was constantley busy so I was adviced to leave them to do and come back in an hour. This was a real problem as this particular store was located in a busy shopping centre so it was easy enough to go for a little wonder. 1 hour later, I had a new phone and a new contract....easy!
The choice contract wise for me was easy, the animal ranges all have a specific benefit depending on how you use your phone. Me been a texter went for the dolphin package but there is a package for people who talk alot, browse the internet alot etc etc. At the time I thought these were good value for money (please note this was three years ago) however looking at it now against what other companies have to offer I don't think it is all that great.
The only real issue with Orange I have found is that when you first sign up they add lots of extra bits and pieces onto your bill. This for me included extra for international calling and web browsing. Neither of these were requested when I signed up for my phone so when this was added onto my monthly bill I questioned them. These were taken off my bill however they refused to refund it.
Overall I have had a good experience, I haven't had to ring them that often but when I have the majority of the customer service agents have been helpful. Although I have had an ok experience with them when my contract comes to an end I am looking at taking my business elsewhere. This is solely based on what all of the other companies are offering and I feel I can get more for my money.
Summary: No major problems but looking elsewhere.
