Good Tarrifs but service terrible and signal quite poor (Orange Network)

Disadvantages: The signal is poor and the customer service has gone down hill

I have been a loyal customer with Orange for years and have always felt very loyal to them.
I joined Orange in 1999 on there everyday 50 plan that was well ahead of its time and was fantastic giving the user 50 minutes a day to orange mobiles or landlines. This tariff suited me and I also found the customer service to be spot on with call centres open twenty four hours a day.
Over the years the other networks caught up and even superseded orange. This review will focus on the customer service I have experienced and how my opinion has changed of orange over the years
There was a time in my 10 year journey with orange the person you spoke to would take it upon themselves to sort out any problem or answer any question I may have had as a customer and on many occasions I called to pay a bill or ask a technical question and I was very satisfied with the response I received
The network was also particularly good. I live in Bristol and I found I never had an issue with signal even when travelling outside to the countryside I usually had a signal.

However I have found now that French Telecom has taken over Orange the signal strength has become a lot worse on my journey to work I can count the number of times the signal would die and I would be credited a large number of minutes each month to reconnect. I have also noticed a massive drop in customer service being put on hold people hanging up ect. This has become so bad that I decided to move from Orange over to O2 now Orange still do the best tariffs but if you are looking for good consistent service and coverage then orange shouldn't be the network you choose
I still feel very loyal to orange and it probably sounds silly but I feel quite sad moving away from them but the loyalty is only one way as I called to cancel there was no deals offered to keep me after over ten years of service
If you are looking for a new provider I wouldn't choose orange unless you had to as there was no other coverage in your area

Summary: I was with orange for over 10 years but moved due to the lack of signal and service
