I used to be with T-Mobile and decided to change to Orange when I got a new mobile phone contract. I got the LG Renoir phone on an 18 month contract which gives me 1800 minutes a month and unlimited text messages.

Fantastic, or so I thought.

But. I don't receive text messages sent to me, other people don't receive text messages I send to them. My mother is also an Orange internet customer and has had no end of problems. Their customer service is appalling. I phoned to try and sort out my text message problem to be told that it was a problem with my phone (even though other Orange customers I know are having the same problems) and that I had to reset the phone to factory settings. If this still didn't work then they would look at their network. Ultimately the problem has not been resolved.

My mother's internet went down suddenly and too months to sort out, including lots of very expensive phone calls to their customer service line, only to discover her upload and download speed had been cut to almost nil.

Their coverage is appalling - I can hardly get signal in my own home and find that signal cuts out all the time when other people on other networks have no problems at all.

I am tied into an 18 month contract with this company but I can assure you that the day the contract ends will be the last day I have any dealings with this company and I certainly would not recommend them to anybody else.

Summary: Go with Orange at your peril.
