I heard about pipex a while ago. They came across me as a company that wants lots of users, and they put up a unreliable service. So when i saw them, i looked up reviews/ratings on them and they turned out to have some pretty excellent ratings. So i decided to go ahead and order pipex adsl self install service. They sell the cheapest self install product on the market, and also they offer free activation.

What is self install?

Self install is an option where you install all the hardware and software yourself instead of getting a bt engineer to come round. Normally a engineer install would cost around 60-100 pounds, so this is easy if you want to install yourself. Also you have to buy your own hardware, this will work out cheaper if you know the right places, you can pick up an adsl modem for around 50 pounds. But buying one off pipex would set you back 120 pounds. Also microfilters are needed so you can recieve phone calls while on the internet.

Ordered pipex xtreme solo self install. This will cost me 23.44 a month, and they give free activation, which no other company gives. you have to have visa, delta, mastercard or switch to sign up. Process wos easy to sign up, does a simple line test to check if your area is adsl enabled and then lets you sign up. you have to give card details over the form, it then asks if you want to buy your own modem, so i chose yes but i ordered 1 microfilter off them for 10 pounds.

Recieved confirmation email off them saying that my payment has been accepted and that they have submitted my order to BT for a line test, which norma
lly takes 2-3 working days. I got this on friday so that meant that i would have to wait the whole weekened and the bank holiday, and not count them as a working day.

Logged into the pipex order tracking site and found out that my line has passed line test and that my activation date to go live wos 15/05/02. It also said that my username and password and my microfilter has been sent by first class post and should arrive anytime soon.

Username and filter came through post. Setup up my modem, filter and username and password. all ready now, just needed activation.

Thought id try to see ive im activated early as a lot of people have had that, and YES I WOS ACTIVATED. Pipex wos connected and i wos ready to surf. It wos a shock to see webpages load up so fast, and for files to download at an extemely fast rate. Never again will i have to worry about waiting for a file to download.

I would recomment pipex adsl to everyone. They give away free activation and now they are giving away free adsl modems in swap for external dial up modems. Since i got it speeds have been excellent and ive not had a single problem. i even got activated a day early.
