sniffout.comNewest Review: ... As a shift worker I tend to use the internet most during the day when my wife is at work, but for the sake of an extra £2 plumped for the 24/7. Once I'd signed up, getting connected was easy. They provided an internet settings file which would configure the connection automatically, and also a printable settings page to allow manual configuration. So far I've been using Sniffout for about three weeks, and am very happy with the service. I get connected first time every time, and the connection is fast with consistent 3.5k/s downloads sometimes faster depending when you connect. You get automatically disconnected after two hou... more |

Why do most isp's only accept payment by credit card? I'm not going to apply for one just for 'net access. Sniffout accept debit card payments as well, even Visa Electron. There were two packages that I looked at, £11.99 per month for unmetered access during peak times (Mon-Fri 0800 - 1800) or £13.99 for 24/7. Me too, Sniffout was my third ISP to have closed down (remember 4Unet?). I though I had found perfection, however all is not lost, read on... Sniffout announced yesterday that it will be returning with new unmetered deals soon. However, do I trust them- after terminating the old deals without notice- the support doesn't exist anymore, you can't dial in with them, and my money to BT for Surftime is going down the pan. I've had to spend nearly a month with Connie- is that really something you would wish upon anyone? (though AOL's not too bad, see my review of it) So why am I even considering signing up with them again? ...Because ... Read the complete review

I was with Sniffout on a Surftime package until BT severed my connection with them due to an internal dispute. I am now with BT, and after only two days I miss Sniffout dreadfully. Sniffout did not seem to suffer the slowness at peak times that BT does. When Sniffout was my ISP, I did not keep getting multiple alerts on my firewall! On my first day with BT I had twelve alerts! With BT Anytime I cannot change the Homepage from BT - talk about Big Brother! Sniffout let me have any page I desired. I found Sniffout really helpful with problems. If they blame BT, then all I can say is that after two days with BT I can see what they mean! I ... Read the complete review

Well for those of you that hadnt worked out why your sniffout account failed to work its because they have pulled the plug on surftime, making some lame excuse about a dispute with BT. Id agree with the other reviewer of this ISP - they blame everything on BT, and when they dont they just seem to randomly shut down there servers (it was an off peak period we didnt think it would disrupt anyone!) In their defence it was almost 100% connect everytime, and the speed wasnt bad once on. But now theres no surftime im taking my buisness elsewhere ... Read the complete review

(To conform with current law below is just my opinion and experiences of this isp and you are free to make your own view.) In my personal experience I have found that sniffout.com are not very helpful in many ways i.e if you request a sniffout cd they never send it if you ask for a standing order form from them when you sign up for a package you never get that aswell. If something goes wrong with the service they always blame BT (which is hardly fair considering some of the problems were looked in to from bt and it was a sniffout problem not a bt problem like they told me) If you complain to then you either wont get a reply of you will get a reply that blames ...
