Advantages: Coverage, Price, Customer Services, Phones offered

Disadvantages: None at all

I have been on T-Mobile ever since I got my first phone about 5 years ago now, I was a late starter. It was a rubbish Sony Ericsson but that's not the point, T-Mobile I have kept with for the past 5 years because they have the best price plan for me, the best coverage and by far the best customer service I have had to deal with.

Pricing:

Since I don't actually use my phone very much for calling T-Mobile do a very good flexible rate, numerous options to choose from no matter what you use your phone for, you can choose to be on a contract and get freebies and obviously pretty much as many calls/texts as you wish, you can be on pay as you go but with specific rates, I for example are on 40p a minute calls, but the texts are only 3p each.

I hardly ever, in fact pretty much never phone anyone using my mobile, the fact I have been able to be put on a flexible rate by T-Mobile means I only have to top up about £5 a month, compared to a contract which would cost £15 or so means I'll pay 1/3 of my costs than I would in most other places which are 10p a text. The amount I phone is negligible to my costs, perhaps I use the phone twice in a month, my partner has unlimited calls on her phone which makes it easy for us to contact each other and I have a house phone if important calls are needed.

There is a price for anyone, if you want a contract, if you want to ring people more or if like me you text much more than phoning people you should be able to find a very cheap rate on T-Mobile.

Coverage:

Perhaps it's because I live in a main city but the reception I've been able to get whilst living in Bristol is superb, in my university halls everyone, including me had poor signal, in fact verging on no signal, but as soon as we all moved out into private accommodation I was the only one with any signal, my mates are all on either Orange, Vodafone or 3 Mobile, me being on T-Mobile was able to get 5 bars literally anywhere in the house, outside, inside.

However, since I am back home for a few weeks and I live in the middle of nowhere the signal has once again become pitiful, 1 or 2 bars if I'm lucky, having to hang out a window to get any hint of signal, again though, this is the same for anyone around my way, this is not a specific T-Mobile issue.

I'm not sure if it's because Bristol is lucky to be a big city and perhaps there's a T-Mobile transmitter somewhere around, but as far as signal goes, as long as you're not in the middle of nowhere or in university halls you'll have perfect signal everywhere.

Customer Service:

This has to be one of the best parts of T-Mobile, and that's saying something, I have ordered my last 2 phones from the T-Mobile website which have both gone without a hitch but the best part is whereby I had my phone nicked one time whilst at university, I was able to phone up T-Mobile using a friends phone to mention that my phone had be stolen to get it locked.

On the other end was probably the nicest customer service phone operator that I or anyone will have had the pleasure of speaking to, I was surprised to hear an American accent (obviously the stereotypical phone operator being Indian wasn't true in this case), he had a lot of time to help me and run through exactly what I had to do and even offered his sympathies at getting my phone stolen and upon ending the phone call told me to have a nice day, no hold up, no rubbish music in the background and very nice staff which easily and coherently offered me support to be able to lock my phone.

Overall:

As you may have found out, I think T-Mobile are brilliant, I have used their website the last 2 times to purchase my phone, I have been with them for 5 years, had absolutely no problems and have had a very pleasant experience, everything about them seems perfect for me and I'm sure it's not just me they are perfect for.

I can't advocate enough how good T-Mobile have been for me and I hope they will be for you.

Summary: T-Mobile IS better than Orange and Vodafone
