Talktalk- Telephone and Broadband for the masses - dont b put off by the general negative perception (Talk Talk)

It must be said that the general perception of Talktalk is quite negative. How can a company so much smaller than the big players in the market such as NTL and BT, be able to undercut the price of telephone and internet so much.

Before talktalk, I was a loyal member of freeserve/orange/wanadoo for internet and BT for telephone. However, I was becoming increasingly disillusioned by Orange's broadband - a tiny download limit, a sporadic internet service, and a truly diabolical customer service - the final nail in the coffin was when I was left without internet for a month, despite claims that it would be fixed "within a day or two" - they even had the gall to try and charge us for the month.

The switch over itself was very smooth - the router was delivered on time (and much more aesthetically pleasing than the beast that is the Wanadoo Livebox) and the broadband was started on the morning of the day stated.
Whilst it is true that there has been the odd niggle over the year or so, each time a quick call to the customer service has resolved the issue with little to no fuss.

The telephone service is standard, and includes very cheap international calls to certain countries. My one qualm would be the fact that it defines its off peak time as ending at 6AM, as opposed to BTs 8AM.

The price of the whole package is very good, especially since there is no need for a BT based landline. The internet service is relatively fast, with my download speeds peaking at 700kb/s, and it has a decent download cap of 40Gb.

Summary: A very good service, especially considering the price.
