If you are looking for a cheap provider and are prepared to risk poor customer service if you have a problem then I would recommend talk talk. We have been with them for several years since shortly after they launched the 'free broadband' deal that left their customer service department overwhelmed. Internet connection has on the whole been very good. We have had one problem that meant we had to contact customer services, when our phone line intermittently stopped receiving incoming calls. This meant several calls to customer services, two with 30 min hold times, conversations with offshore operatives to whom it was difficult to explain the problem, over a period of time. In the latter calls nothing seemed to have been done in response to my first calls. Fortunately the problem seemed to fix itself as Talk talk just said they 'hadn't found a problem on the line' and it hasn't reoccurred. Otherwise, I dread to think how long I could have waited and how many calls it would have taken to sort it out!

It depends on your priority, if you are after a cheap deal, go for it, but if you would rather pay a premium for better customer service then go elsewhere.

Summary: Good if you are prepared to gamble on not having to contact customer services!
