Premium Review Telewest: The company was taken over by Virgin a sad day for everyone (297 words)

Telewest was the company to bring cable services to Bristol and introduced me to the high speed internet. My review will focus on the service I received during the number of years I was with them before they became Virgin and some of the products I used. Telewest were very clever in there marketing strategy when BT were charging a lot of money to install a line Telewest would either do this for free or change a small amount 25 pounds for installation. I remember ordering Telewest and two engineers arrived to install my services I remember the excitement as I watched them demo the internet and television. Telewest Cowboys milk their customers (368 words)

Telewest - I ordered their service broadband and phone on the assurance from a telewest doorstep rep and an online rep that the claimed 2mb download was guaranteed "You will always get 2mb download because Telewest instal fibre optic which gives a more powerful signal uninterrupted by distance from the exchange and not watered down by sharing with neighbours". Thats what they said, the reality was far different, firstly their sub-contractors who arrived to fit the cable were clearly being paid by the number of lines installed in a given amount of time. This meant that they made a mess and didn't clear it up (and at one point vanished from my house and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Telewest: I am but a gullible fool (765 words)

I used to be with Telewest and found them pretty good, no hassle, if your bill was wrong they paid it for a month, the service was there. It worked out cheaper than BT. Not bad at all. When I moved Telewest tv wasn't available in my area so I have used BT/Aol/Freeview for the last six years. So when looking for a replacement (I decided it was time to check out the competition) I immeadiatley thought of Telewest. Well how foolish that was. The Salesman - A stand in the Ridings in Wakefield, very helpful, unless of course you wanted to find out anything technical, or useful. "I don't know about that" "Wouldn't know myself" were the ...  Read the complete review

I don't exactly know why I'm still with Telewest, but the fact remains that I am. So lump it Don. Well lump it I do but not without complaint. I had Telewest dial Up Internet, Telewest Cable TV, and a Telewest phone Line. Well for most of the month anyway. Including phone calls of which there are not that many, my monthly bill was in the region of £43. This sounds quite reasonable when compared to the likes of SKY and indeed it probably is if you get the service you signed up for. One advantage of having a Telewest phone-line is that dialling 150 gets you through to customer services. Helpful EH!!. DONG. On first ringing you are asked to input your account ...  Read the complete review

With so many different companies nowadays offering you single price packages for your TV, Telephone and Internet service, it becomes harder and harder to choose the best deal. After spending over a month trying to find the deal of my dreams, I stumbled across Telewest Broadband… and what a mistake it was… When people say that "you should learn from your mistakes", I never listened. Within the first week of purchase, I realised what they meant. My troubles and Telewest's struggle for survival, begun even before my digital box and broadband were installed. When Telewest say that they would handle everything, from installing the service, to ...  Read the complete review
