Advantages: Great customer service and fab Broadband speeds and TV service

Disadvantages: The company were purchased by Virgin led to poor customer service and Broadband service

Telewest was the company to bring cable services to Bristol and introduced me to the high speed internet. My review will focus on the service I received during the number of years I was with them before they became Virgin and some of the products I used.
Telewest were very clever in there marketing strategy when BT were charging a lot of money to install a line Telewest would either do this for free or change a small amount 25 pounds for installation. I remember ordering Telewest and two engineers arrived to install my services I remember the excitement as I watched them demo the internet and television.
I was no long under the curse of having four channels.
The engineers were very customer focused which was a good start to my long adventure using cable services.
The internet began with a 512kb line that never had problems was perfectly fast enough this was before websites became massive and other video sites like I player and you tube emerged.
The internet service to my Knowledge never broke down we never had to call an engineer out to replace the equipment and I was happy using the internet and watching the TV.
I was quite concerned when I heard that Virgin were taking over from Telewest as a company that believes it can do things cheaper and make more money must be making cuts somewhere and I was correct the service has gone down hill and the reliability has also become poor.
In conclusion I was brought up with telewest and had a great service that I will always remember as they gave me the first broadband If they were still in existence today I would still be a customer of there's
