Advantages: nothing at all

This is my experience with Telewest. It wasnt a pleasant experience and infact I just cant think of a nice thing to say about them.

The first problem started from day one. The men came around and installed the box on the television and changed the phone over to them. Imagine my suprise when I first tuned in and found the picture was so snowy I didnt even know what I was watching! The salesman had promised me crystal clear pictures so I was a bit suprised. It took a couple of day but a guy came around to look at it and it turned out that a broken box had been installed. What a great start.

The next problem was with the phone line. I did think that it was strange not to recieve any phone calls but it wasnt until my mum mentioned that she had been ringing me and there had been no reply did I begin to realise there was something wrong. As it turned it I could dial out but not receive any incoming calls. So the engineer returned and after alot of head scratching, he located the problem and fixed it. Well thats what he told me anyway but unfortuantly he didnt. Nor did the second engineer or the third! Infact it took the fourth engineer to actually fix the problem and this had been going on for over three weeks.

By the time everything was running as it should be, I had had enough of Telewest so I cancelled the contract. Unfortuantly the sales department forgot to tell the accounts department and for the next six months I was getting bills for a service that was no longer in place. I made phone call after phone call but to no avail...every month the bill would turn up. The final straw came when I got a letter from the bayliff saying that unless I paid all the outstanding debt, goods for the amount of the outstanding balance would be taken from my house. As you can imagine I was hardly pleased with the thought of this and when I finally got through to Telewest customer services (it can take over an hour you know!) they did actually manage to do som
ething right and clear the outstanding balance.

So there we are...my whole experience with Telewest is that they cant get anything right at all and I wouldnt have their services in my house again even if they were given them away!
