I have used Tesco.net dialup for several years and the service is deteriorating badly. I had been happy with waitrose broadband for a year but with 3 net hungry people in my household it was time to get an unlimited download service, so I migrated to tesco and my experience has been really poor, firstly they supplied modems when I did not order any, they did not keep me updated on the progress of my migration at all, after 15 days I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review tesco.net: Tesco.net ~ our Dial-up and Broadband experience (3167 words)

Rating:

We've been connected to the internet for some years now and chose originally to use Tesco dial-up because it was reasonably priced. We reasoned that a large supermarket chain would lose credibility if it offered something unreliable. Tesco Internet access has four packages to choose from, designed to suit all users. You do not have to ...  Read the complete review

Like every other isp review on this and other sites I have read one or two negative reviews of tesco.net. However, don't be put off by these- most of them were written a few years ago, and they have since relaunched - and its good! I've previously been with ntl (before i moved) and freeserve on unlimited usage accounts and ...  Read the complete review

I do it all day long ...Surf the Internet that is. I have been an Internet dial up user for roughly the last four years (BT doesn't deem my area worthy of broadband yet. Tell me, how do they expect 400 people to pre-register from an area before they activate broadband, when I live in a rural area and there are barely 400 people with ...  Read the complete review

As we are new to the computer world we decided to go with tesco.net as they are cheap and we didnt want anything too fast to start with. All i can say is from the very start we were quite dissapointed. For some strange reason our session gets cut off every ten or twenty minutes. Has anyone else had this problem? (All of our settings are correct). ...  Read the complete review

So who wants an email address of "steve.davies@tesco.net"? It isn't exactly glamorous is it? I would have thought that Tesco's marketing Gurus would have seen that! Well, actually I have that email address (I think!)... I just don't use it much. What do they provide? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...  Read the complete review

Tesco.net was the third free ISP I have used - it didn't cost me anything as I have a Tesco clubcard. It was easy to install from the CD-ROM, which is always a plus. I use it less than my other free ISPs, as when I have used it, it seems to be slower than the others. I have also frequently been cut off, but that is at least partly the fault of ...  Read the complete review

I must admit to be very pro Tesco. The way that I look at it is if something hasn't ever given you a problem then why change? Since I went online and sampled the delights of Tesco Direct ( see other opinion ) I decided to sign up for the Tesco ISP. To be honest I rarely use it as a dial up to surf, I only tend to use it ...  Read the complete review

I have been using Tesco net for about six months and I find it not very good at all. So I have now switched ISPs and it had really hit home how inadequate they really are. Their site content is laughable and I get no real benefit from it. They offer no real incentives to use their service over another. I don't like their email ...  Read the complete review

I have been using Tesco.net since it was first started up; you had to pay a monthly charge then. They soon followed the trend of other ISP’s and changed to a free service, I had paid an annual subscription and they refunded me all of the money that I had paid. My opinion of tesco.net is that it's rubbish. I am mostly referring to the email provider here though , i have no major gripe with the rest. So it's not expensive - that i suppose is one good thing. But in my experience it is also very poorly designed and so difficult to use. Just sending and recieving mail can be confusing to a new ...  Read the complete review

I have Tesco.net as my backup ISP. I have a Tesco clubcard so signing up was free and easy. It is accessed by an 0845 pay as you use number (local rates).
