Disadvantages: Abysmal customer 'service' from India, regular cold-calling, poor reception even in urban areas

Signing up to Three was one of the worst mistakes I have ever made. Three's packages look enticing, but their service is absolutely abysmal. Customer service is in India and, if you look around the net, you'll just see how bad they are. I have been pulling my hair out for 18 months as each customer service rep. seems to be worse than the other. A simple enquiry that should take two minutes ends up taking an hour as you have to go through a complex, neverending call menu system. Then you are kept waiting on the line. Then you to go through to somebody in India who struggles to understand English. You are passed from person to person; nobody takes responsiblity.

Signal reception is awful. I have been to about a dozen mobile phone shops in the last 18 months to see why I struggled to get reception even in central London and all the service staff told me that Three had poor reception.

When I tried to switch to another network after my contract expired they wouldn't let me! I had to spend two hours on the phone before they eventually gave me my PAC code.

Since then Three have harrassed me 12 times in two days, making endless calls to try to persaude me to stay on their network. The stress of having people from India calling me every two hours and refusing to get off the phone was so much that I was forced to switch off my mobile.

Summary: Three are slick with their marketing, but it's a nightmare to use this network

Totally agree with you Jenny. They are utterly useless and only interested in money. They are cowboys and should be shut down.

I'm with 3 but never had those sorts of problems. My problem has been wih the 3 customised version of the phone, which doesn't support non-3 software well.
