Advantages: Great Price Plans. Decent Coverage & Customer Services. Great Phones Too.

Disadvantages: Mobile Broadband Is A Poor Product. Sometimes Out Of Coverage. Some Foreign Customer Service People.

I have been with the Three network since August 2003. Bearing in mind that they launched their service on 03/03/2003, this means that I have been a customer for almost as long as they have been trading.

I have always found the network to be very good value for money. I am currently on the Mix & Match 300 plan which allows 300 minutes or text messages whichever comes first to any network or landline for £15 per month. I also got a free phone as part of this deal. Makes Pre Pay look rubbish doesn't it.

Coverage wise I must admit that they aren't the best. Don't get me wrong. They aren't bad, but there are some areas where you struggle to pick up a signal. For me I have to be near a window if I'm at work or if I'm at my in laws house I have to be upstairs. Most places I have visited though the mobiles have worked fine outside & they have even worked in France & America. Plus 20p per text from another country & free to receive texts means it's not that expensive from abroad. Calling is though.

I have had one of their mobile broadband dongles & this wasn't very good. In my home (where I get good coverage) I either couldn't connect to the internet at all, or when I could, after 2 or 3 pages I was kicked off the server. To me the problem seemed to be too much demand from users that three's servers couldn't cope with. Whenever I went on at a non peak time, like say 1.00 a.m., the service was fine. I recently cancelled this part of their service & wouldn't recommend it or use it again.

Dealing with them over the phone is pretty good. They do operate foreign tele marketing / customer service staff. They do also operate with some British ones located in Scotland. You do tend to be able to get your problem sorted out in one phone call, with not too much fuss. Plus the call is free from your mobile. They also allow you to upgrade very early. My contract doesn't run out until March but they will let me upgrade in November in a couple of weeks. 4 months early on an 18 month contract. Not many operators will let you do that. I already picked out the phone. Fellas get this - Sky Sports live on your mobile for an extra £5 per month! GET IN!

I would recommend a telephone on their network. Your coverage should be reasonable. You'll get decent service from the company & your price plan will be very good. Avoid the mobile broadband though.

Summary: A Good Network With A Lot Going For It & Few Flaws.

Interesting. Prefer Orange who ironically have the greatest UK 3G Coverage, but good review. Thanks
